Description

MATRIX LIGHT 2

The world's safest, healthiest, convertible carrycot and car seat.

  • Group 0 & 0+ (Lie flat position = Group 0, Sitting up position = Group 0+)Matrix Car Seat and Carrycot system
  • 0 - 13 kg
  • Birth to 18 months approx.

The multi-award winning Group 0/0+ Matrix Light 2 from Jané is a revolutionary multi-functional infant car seat that turns into a carrycot. It is the only infant car seat on the market that offers the option of safely travelling with your baby in the sitting up or lying down position in the car, especially recommended by health officials for long journeys.

The comfort and safety of travelling sitting up or stretched out.  You choose the best position for your baby.

Features & benefits:

  • When used as a carrycot with a mattress it can be used for overnight sleeping.
  • More spaciously designed car seat: allows baby to travel in the safer rearward facing position for longer. Up to 13 kg, approx birth to 18 months.
  • Can be installed with seat belts or the optional ISOFIX base, making installation even quicker and easier.
  • Universal classification: can be installed even in cars with shorter seat belts: its low-routing system also leaves the area for baby's feet free.
  • Group 0+ seat belt lock, so it can be tightened to give more stability and reduce movement during an impact.
  • 5 point safety harness allows for a larger fastening surface and thereby making it much safer than conventional infant car seats.
  • The automatic height adjustment of the shoulder straps by simply pressing a button avoids user error and the inconvenience of removing and refitting the harness as your child grows.
  • One-pull instant harness adjustment makes it easy to adjust for thicker clothing and as baby grows.
  • PRO-FIX system: locks and unlocks the car seat with just one movement. This unique system eliminates the need to buy awkward fitting kits.

Jané Matrix Light 2

- THE INFANT CAR SEAT THAT TURNS INTO A CARRYCOT -

This means that if your baby is sleeping in the Jané Matrix Light in the house he can be safely moved to the car, taken to the shops, and brought back home again without ever having to be moved or disturbed from sleep. It also delivers great value for money as it can be used 24/7 - for overnight sleeping when used with a mattress, just like a conventional carrycot, and for naps during the day, yet converts effortlessly into a car seat when required - giving you the best of both worlds at a fraction of the price of a separate carrycot and car seat.

Matrix Light 2 lie-flat in car

- HEALTH BENEFITS -

Newborn babies should ideally lie completely flat, as recommended by health officials. This position unlike conventional infant car seats doesn’t have any time restrictions a newborn can travel in it. It also facilitates newborn respiration, nurtures the abdomen and aids optimal spinal development. The Jané Matrix Light’s innovative design recognises these important requirements and is also endorsed by midwifes and recent medical reports, giving your baby the best start in life.

- THE WORLD’S FIRST CARRYCOT WITH ISOFIX -

Jané understands that you will be taking your baby in and out of the car and pram on a regular basis and that this process needs to be easy, yet reassuringly safe. The Matrix Light 2 simply clicks on and off the Matrix Platform in the car and will click on to the chassis of a Jané pram in seconds, simply ‘Click & Go’.

The Matrix Platform ISOFIX base - Turns Matrix into the world's first carrycot with ISOFIX.

The Matrix Platform is the first of its kind in the world. It will allow the Matrix Light 2 car seat to be used in the conventional sitting up rearward facing position and also rotate for its unique lie-flat carrycot position which is recommend by baby health officials, especially for long journeys.

Crash Test Centre

JANE CRASH TEST RESEARCH CENTRE

Jane Crash Test Research Centre

The Jané Crash Test Research Centre was built in 2003 when, as a result of our commitment to child safety, we decided to create our own crash test tunnel where we could test our seats to the limit to achieve a level of safety that goes beyond the legal requirements.

All the Jané seats are created in the JANÉ CRASH TEST RESEARCH CENTER, the only private crash tunnel in Spain for researching child safety.

As it is at our factory in Palau-Solità i Plegamans (Barcelona), we can use the Crash Test as much as is necessary (and then some more). And that's how we can offer you the most tested seats on the market with the strictest certification of Europe.

Crash Test

Our car seats can be tested up to 250 times before being put on the market.

We stage crashes equivalent to 85 km/h (53 mph) in the car - much higher than the European Safety Regulations of 30 mph or ADAC crash tests at 40 mph.

Jané  Matrix Light 2 meets and exceeds the ECE R44.04 Safety Standard, for 2 positions approved for vehicles: (1) Flat position 180°, ideal rest for baby in the first months of life. (2) Sitting position 138°. European Safety Approval: ECE R44.04 Universal classification.

I have this car seat for my son and can honestly say it's the best thing I've ever bought! Made life so much easier and knowing they can lie down whilst doing the school runs instead of been stuck in the standard car seats is such a relief. Too many people use car seats as a pushchair for their babies and don't know the risks it does to the spine and hips and also the risk of their breathing. I think all babies car seats should be made like this as standard.

Used my Matrix for over a year now and I can not rate it highly enough. I know it is bigger and heavier than some car seats but I wanted one that my daughter Laura could lay flat in so to over come the oxygen desaturation issue (see carseatinfo web site). Initially, I used it as a carrycot on the stroller and in the car as a lie flat car seat. It is easy to secure flat in the car (my husband got it down to 20 seconds) but not so quick in the rear facing position. It did not matter though because we had started to use the stroller seat by then so kept the Matrix secured in the car. I see they have a isofix base now, had it been available when we purchased I suspect we would have bought it.

My friends who bought other car seats regret not buying Matrix now, their kids outgrew their seats in under a year. There is still plenty of room for Laura in her Matrix(hope she will be rear facing for another 4/5 months).

I am expecting our third next year so will use the Matrix on the new Jane Twone stroller with Laura in the second seat. Probably go for the Matrix base as well if budget allows!

I love this car seat! We had to do a lot of approx 4hr journeys soon after my daughter was born and she was able to lie flat comfortably for the whole journey, only stopping for feeding. She lay flat only until 3 months and now prefers to sit up, although, with the rotating isofix base, it is very easy to lie her down if she falls asleep without waking her up.
It is quite a heavy car seat but is so easy to fix on to my trider base that it isn't a problem and you can transfer from car to wheels without waking - no need to transfer to pram or bed as she is already lying flat. This is so much better for her lung and spine development.
We have used it, when away, as a moses basket (with the mattress) and she still fits in at 4 months (just!).
I can't recommend this enough! I would strongly advise getting it with the isofix base though as it is a bit fiddly to get in the car without it and the rotating base is one of the best things!!
It is an expensive car seat but you don't need to buy a separate pram as this does both.
